The proof is that Apple sent invitations to media (that said they got an invitation) that look like the images above and said for them to meet up on March 7th in San Fransisco . Here is an article on it.

Here is proof of apple setting up for the event: http://www.macrumors.com/2012/03/02/banners-begin-going-up-at-yerba-buena-for-ipad-3-media-event/
And my brothers friends dad is one of the chief software engineers. And he confirmed that it is the iPad 3 that they are releasing.

What I mean is that Apple may announce the iPad3 on the 7th - but it will probably be weeks until it is actually released.

im not excited for the ipad 3 because it is going to turn out like the 4s all its going to have is a better prossesor (like always) a retina screen (they always add a better screen) and siri. Also I tried siri on my exchange student's iphone and it is equal to something free on the appstore called "dragon go" so this is probably going to turn out like the 4s did. (their failing without steve :) )

ok, this is what I have known from other sites

the picture does not have an home button, because the wallpaper showed it is the wide side, and it shoo;d be in the side without the camera
