A peak into my real life: See my logo for my other company!

I wanted to share with you all my new logo for my "real life" company, Alaska Tackle Rental. Part of the reason for this post is to solicit opinions, and the other is to share that Basil Murad is an excellent graphic designer to work with. He's behind Monstrous and the upcoming Drink or Dare. He does custom game art and logos at www.spritefactory.com, and has been a big help to the GS community already (you've already seen his work in several GS titles).

    Nice!
    However, the "Alaska Tackle Rental" text is too bold for my taste, and the stroke overdoes it.

    I like the fish/hook, but think you might push the size on the type a little so when its scaled down it reads more easily (the opposite of redsky's thoughts). I did some work on a project involving fish in northern Finland and use art derived from the local Sami people. It gave it a really nice edge as their art was traditionally very simple and strong in form. I am not sure that it would be something that would fire you (your local art that is), but it is an idea.

    With color! These colors were chosen because it's semi Alaska colors, and they're similar to a popular local sports team, so we want to implant subconscious thoughts of local Alaska pride. :)
