Question about "Post score" & "Login" with Game Center?

Do you need to be logged into Game Center to post score to Game Center?
Wondering If you could use POST SCORE at anytime and then SHOW LEADERBOARD with push of button without Game Center LOGIN behavior.
And if you do need to use LOGIN behavior before POST and LEADERBOARD do you get asked to log in with the LOGIN behavior everytime or will it recognize that you are already logged in and say welcome back (yourname)?
