Whats is the Ad-hoc?

Hello there guys
Can someone explain for me what ad hoc is? What I understand is it like a beta thing where other can test you app before it is sumbited to appstore. Am I right? And is there some waiting time for your app to be reviwed in Adhoc? :)

    Hey there,

    An adhoc is used to test your game on your device. You can test it, others can too.
    It's pretty simple. Tshirtbooth has an excellent tutorial for it. There is no waiting, except for when you publish the game through GameSalad.

    Adhoc is apples way of letting you put apps on your device for testing. You sign the app with a developer profile and publish out of gamesald and drop that file into iTunes and put it on your device, you don't have to send anything to apple.

    I've created adhoc versions for myself but never sent them to anyone. Can someone else install an adhoc version without Xcode? (I realize TestFlight is an option, too.)
