When I try to to publish my project, GS tells me that I need to install my certificates, Provisioning Profile, and WWAD certificate. Ive done all this, yet it still gives me errors. And suggestions?

    I did. Twice

Then you had to have done somethign wrong along the way. Start over fresh. In keychain access search iphone and delete all the certficates that come up in the search so you can start over. Theres nothing we can really do to help you, i know its frustrating but your just gonna have to follow the videos step by step and make sure you do everything exact.

Do I need the GS Viewer installed to publish?
  • JohnPapiomitisJohnPapiomitis Member Posts: 6,256
No, and if your getting errors with your certificates you wont be able to install the viewer.

    You have xcode installed right

    Yes, the latest

The error I usually get is a Code Signing Error

I used to get that same message. However, I reinstalled all of my certificates and made sure everything was correct with Apple and it worked.

All of my certificates are freshly made today so they should be fine

Alright, Im starting over fresh this afternoon after class. Ive deleted all of my certificates in the Keychain, as well as everything in the Provisioning Portal and all of the keys.

Been trying all afternoon. Gone through all of the steps and videos 3 times and still get the error that none of that stuff is being installed. Ive contacted Support, but haven't heard back yet

Still nothing and I'm getting upset. Is anyone else having these problems?

@JohnPapiomitis I followed a different set of videos to no.prevail. However, it did state that Camellias looks to xcode for the provisioning profiles. Is it possible that GS cannot find xcode, therefore giving me the error?

Did you clean your machine before making new certificates?
  • poorcollegedevpoorcollegedev Member Posts: 289
@jonmulcahy what do you mean clean? I just bought OS X Lion
  • JohnPapiomitisJohnPapiomitis Member Posts: 6,256
You said you keep starting over, what jon means by clean is did you delete the certificates each time before trying again like i posted above as well

i'm cross posting this from an earlier thread i replied to, so much of it might not apply, but if you're looking to start fresh, follow these steps:

follow this guide step by step: http://gamesalad.com/wiki/developing_for_iphone

if you still have trouble, remove everything and start over by following these steps (copied from another post):

if you open up the keychain access application, you should see 3 certificates:

Apple Worldwide Developer Relations Certificate Authority
    iPhone Developer: NAME
    iPhone Distribution: NAME

If you expand both the iPhone keys, you will see two a private key with your name under each. Right click on each of those and hit delete. After that right click on the three certificates above and hit delete.

    Reboot your computer

Then open xcode, with your phone plugged in, and click on Window->Organizer
If you click on Developer Profile, you should see nothing in it
Click on Provisioning Profiles, delete EVERYTHING
Click on your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad under devices, after a few seconds it will show you all installed provisioning profiles on the phone. Delete EVERYTHING

reboot your phone and your machine again just to make sure it's all cleaned out.

Now, go back and login to the iPhone Developer Portal and go to where you create your keychains/appids/provisioning profiles. Start from step 1, and read each section through twice before you do anything.

If you follow the steps it's very easy, but you have to follow them exactly. If you make a mistake it's a nightmare.

@JohnPapiomitis do i need to request two different certificates of just 1. In @tshirtbooth video series, he used just one.

@UtopianGames do I need to request two different certificates or just 1?
  • jonmulcahyjonmulcahy Member, Sous Chef Posts: 10,408
    Follow this guide from apple:

It's important that you make sure you start with a clean machine. You can't already have certificates of any kind installed.

Yeh i've done this once or twice now, messed around for hours trying to fix it, definitely best just to delete all certificates and start again, much quicker. Good luck

@jonmulcahy do I use the link to apple of the link to the cookbook?
  • poorcollegedevpoorcollegedev Member Posts: 289
@beefy_clyro do I need to request 1 certificate or 2 in the keychain?

  • jonmulcahyjonmulcahy Member, Sous Chef Posts: 10,408
    @poorcollegedev

use the apple guide. that will be the most up to date and will answer all your questions. have you attempted to remove everything and start over? you seem to be hung up on requesting 1 or 2 certificates
  • poorcollegedevpoorcollegedev Member Posts: 289
@jonmulcahy yeah, I "cleaned" my keychain and used to "Launch Assistant" feature in the portal and got the WWDR and all that stuff but got the error still. Can you explain the difference between Developer and Distribution provisioning profiles?
