Is anyone else experiencing poor GS performance especially if testing with music?

I don't understand it but its been going on for awhile now.. i put up with it because i thought well maybe its my system.. but the more i use it the more i wonder if its something with the most recent client updates..

I have a macbook pro 17" i7 CPU and when i do things like even play music on itunes while working.. audio is horribly bad about stuttering and making GS very unresponsive when testing in GS itself..

I feel like the client is generally slower than i would expect with the computer i have, but its really at its worse when testing in game.. here is a quick video example.. the performance hit is significantly better, but not always great when no music is being played..

if i have two GS programs open it seems to really take a hit too.. even when not testing.. dragging icons out to the stage also seems kinda poor in responsiveness..

I don't think my mac runs poorly in general.. seems to do most other things just fine without trouble so i really feel like this extreme performance issue is isolated to GS.

This is a shot in the dark, but it almost seems like when they made improvements to androids audio, this issue started to creep in.. it wasn't always like this i know..

the worse thing about this besides making testing horribly drug out.. i can't even record a video of the game being played..

it does seem to do better if i close it and reopen.. maybe some kind of memory leak? I'm not the best mac diagnoser, but anyway I just wonder if others have experienced anything like this.

Thanks!
Caleb

Not a shot in the dark, same thing happened to me once I installed the Android SDK.
It doesn't seem to be a matter of a slow Mac system, what you're describing is what I have going on as well, and my Macbook Pro is a 2009 2.8ghz Core 2 duo with 8gb of ram. You're i7 should be much, much faster than mine, but sounds like the stuttering is the same regardless.

There's some of us affected, and some don't seem to have it. There's been a few threads on it.
I've personally contacted support about a few issues with audio on Android, so I'm sure they're working on it. Hopefully there will be a fix in the next GS update.

Well I'm glad at least its not just me.. and that workaround is probably not too horrible for video recording or other times when doing heavy testing..

Still i hope they do find a solution and explanation to what is going on.

it does seem to help periodically to just close and reopen the app but it doesn't erally help completely especially for video where you don't want a bunch of lag stutter!

Thanks for the quick and effective responses! I was so dreading hearing.. "no it's just your computer.." :)
