Question about free versions

I would like to hear your stories about the free version of a game. They can help the full version sales? I know that a game, must be very good to convince the player to buy the full version but otherwise my sales are 0!

Thanks tshirtbooth for your tip. Anyway a game must be very good made and fun. Right? Otherwise the free version will stop the sales of the paid version (my paid version sales are stopped!!! )
