Hey all,

Some of you may be too young to remember this game.. I had it on the palm pilot like 15 years ago :) It had several variations, including Dope Wars.

Is a game like this possible with GameSalad? I imagine it would require the use of tables.. but not sure.

    Ok so either game attributes or via a table.

    So item a's value = £20
    b's - £50
    c's = £100

    They're set value that won't change.

    Then you need a value for your money and you will need to build an inventory system. You can only buy when you have enough money etc.

    Thing is you need to build randomness into it so could be sort of complex and unless you're confident with GS and how you use it, could be a bit ambitious ... Definitely possible within GS though

    Hahaha classic game. Yeh i think that would very much be possible with GS and don't think you'd specifically need tables ... although it could help

    Thanks for replying, @beefy_clyro . How would you store all the price values? My head is spinning when I think about how complex this would be :)

    @tshirtbooth - You could have Fruit Wars where you trade fruit... Fruit is cooler than drugs nowadays anyway :P

    Drug Wars was AMAZING!

    @tshirtbooth … rejection should be automatic for promoting drug trafficking
    … though the gamePlay is exciting! (and, I personally don't like censorship)

    this one is in the AppStore: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/drug-wars/id420263615?mt=8

    I wonder if Apple is a little more forgiving these days - I've seen a lot of 17+ very mature games making it into the app store lately. Seems like the possibilities are endless with this type of game :)

    There are a ton of clones out there right now unfortunately.

    True.. but for some reason, at least IMHO, none captured the magic of the original :) Ah, memories of the Marrakesh Express rolling in!
