Yea, so this shall be the most flame worthy question ever... Here is my situation *Dramatic Music Plays*
Well, I figured I would have problems in future development of the game but gosh, this is rather early.
I will admit i am in the younger audience and im picking this up for a summer hobby/job I say job because
I am interested in publishing for Apple Products. I was just gonna pay someone on Odesk but there's no
point in wasting money, if i can do it myself. Well here's my first problem...

I can't even import :( :( :( :( ... lol. i've been dragging and dropping into every section with no results on the stage, AT ALL.

It would also be helpful if you could leave some tutorial links if you have any that specifically have helped you.

The actual question is HOW DO I IMPORT x___x and Links To Tutorials =D

~Thanks in advance and happy creating

Is there a question in there somewhere? Import what?

For tutorials, I'd highly recommend @tshirtbooth 's "gshelper.com" site... lots of free tutorials there.

@justme74 @bjandthekatz I can't import anything. I started making my "Start Screen" in Photoshop, but i can't import it into GameSalad.

Make sure your images are saved as .png files, not Photoshops native format.

In your Scene window click on the Images button in the lower left corner and drag a .png file too that window. It should import and then be available for use in Gamesalad.

@jamie_c So I should import everything into the "Images" screen. I figured i would have too import backgrounds into backgrounds, and actors into actors, etc.

Captain, have you gone through some of the end to end tutorials?

It sounds like you are making some assumptions about how GS works that aren't correct (ie Background as something unique from an Actor).

The answer is that you import an image (+), then assign it to an Actor and then drag the actor onto the Scene.

You will be quite frustrated if you don't do a little of the basic work with "training" wheels. I suggest spending some hours on the tutorials and then you will be able to move quicker. You won't want to wait on us for answers :-)

@heathcc @jamie_c @bjandthekatz @justme74 Thanks for all the answers and help. I think i'll just sit here and look up some tutorials and guides. Figure it all out, make some stuff and buy some templates. Anyone have more tutorial links?

Go to youtube and look up gamesalad. there are tons of videos under the game salad cookbook.

I posted this tutorial about a week ago. It's not about bringing in art files but it is a good beginner tutorial (I hope! LOL!).
