How to create full HD iPhone App Trailer?

I am in the process of creating an App Trailer for my new game. How do I create a full screen HD quality showing off just the game screen? In other words when the user plays the movie trailer it will take up their full screen in HD.

I am using ScreenFlow to record my screen while playing my game in the Game Salad preview mode. Once I have the recording I am able to crop out everything on the screen except the game screen area. However it is the size of the iPhone screen. I'd like to scale it to full HD, but when I do the video is really bad.

What am I doing wrong?

    You can't make full hd from iphone screen res. Many people have the iphone screen the max size (960x640) and add borders or text around it. Like this:

    or u can direct feed it which is the BEST option.

    it also depends on the game tho. if you are recording a game with lots of movement and animation, chances are performance will slowdown on the creator and while using a screen capture it will slow it down a little more. what i did with my game was do a screen capture and then when i edited on final cut pro x, i increased the speed by 120% and its hard to noticed the slowdowns :)

    is your device jailbroken?? if so download DisplayRecorder from cydia. you can record 1080 from that.

    Another solution is to use the same technique used in the "Resize to iPad" thread using a 2x ratio. That way when you preview it in the creator you will have a 960x640 screen to capture.

    However as the preview is right now you will likely record with bad performance issues. So if you have a jailbroken phone you can use various tricks that you can easily find on Google (I think it's forbidden to talk about them here).

    Another solution is to find a HD camera and record your screen with it. I did it with the trailer of one of my game and it wasn't so bad.

    You won't need to jailbreak your device to record high quality screen video. You can do it with airplaying your screen on your computer and recording the screen. I use application called AirServer to display my device's screens. Unfortunately you'll have to have iPhone 4s or iPad 2 or 3.     @Cultureplay If a 960x640 video is good enough (960 is HD) you can ru your game in the iphone simulator from xCode and then you choose the option iphone retina...then just capture this with ScreenFlow as example.
    I use Screeny from the MacAppStore for screencapturing...it is really good :)

    I don't think display recorder on jailbroken devices records sounds.

    Interesting, I didn't think apple allowed these kinds of Apps. Hence them only being available trough cydia. I would be very interested to hear any GS user experiences with it.

    @MrBloggy: Will they create the entire trailor for you if you get the Custom Package? So not just the HD screen recording, but editing and producing the final trailor?

    You could also publish a mac version and screen capture that. Although you get black borders. Or if you have an imac try running it in creator preview at mac size.

    I use sound stage. basically you play your game through the GS viewer on the simulator and use sound stage to record the screen. They even give you the famous white dot as your cursor when you record.

    Its on the mac app store for pretty cheap.
