Free or Paid

As a student I need to make as much revenue possible from my game, and to do so I need to know what I would do the best on on the appstore. Now I know the moderators may get mad at this post so lets not give any specific numbers.. but woulda .99 game, or an ad supported free game get more downloads? or a 1.99 game? Whcih would do the best. What kind of downloads do you need to get a good ad supported revunue going? thanks

    A free game will always get more downloads, I guarantee it. To tell you the truth, it depends on what type of game it is. If it's a word game, for example, then I would go the iAd route with IAP to remove ads and get some cool in-game things. However, if you have a puzzle game, for example, (thats well polished) then I might go $0.99. I wouldn't go above that price - it's hard to sell anything above $0.99 unless you have an excellent app.

    Personally, I would say go iAd and IAP route. Make tons of IAP to give the player many choices and ways to spend their money. :)

    IMO premium seems to work better than fermium - for my games anyway
