Is Gamesalad really creating games for the IPAD retina screen?

Hi, first of many questions from a newbie :) I'm making a game for the IPAD and I'm saving all my images as PNG's with the retina resolution in mind (i.e. 2048 by 1536), I set up my project as IPAD (landscape) with resolution independence ticked, but the scene size always seems to be set to 1024 by 768. My hi-res graphics seem to be automatically (and quite happily) scaled to this resolution within a scene. Is Gamesalad really capable of publishing games at retina resolution? Or when I publish is it going to simply take these HD graphics that it has scaled down during creation and re-scale them up if the user has an ipad3 or 4? If so won't there be a loss of quality?

    If you are testing on an ipad 1 or 2, yes, the auto-generated images at 1024x768 will be used. But if you are on an ipad 3 or 4 the full size images at 2048x1536 will be used.

    Unless I have misunderstood your question?

    Thanks HoneyTribeStudios, you have understood me perfectly :) I will be testing on an ipad3 (and probably an ipad2 as well).
