BG overlaying Actors

Hi,
I have replaced the image on my BG actor, but now it obscures the other actors. I have checked it is in the correct Scene Layer as before, so don't understand what I have done wrong.
Any ideas welcome.

thanks

    G'day,
If possible, can you provide a screenshot? Thanks!

When you say replaced, did you drag an image file on top of the background actor to replace the default white, or background image you used previously?

If so, delete the current background image/actor, reimport the image file and try again. There may have been a hiccup in the process.

you said it's in the correct layer but what about the sequence in the layer. e.g. background layer -> actor A / actor B / actor C etc.. the actor above the list in the layer will overlap the one below.

When you add new actor it's placed on top of all actors. So you have to manually bring it down.

RP: I was using a game template, that was already functioning correctly. Yes, I did drag a new BG image file and drop it on top of the original BG actor (in Top Left window). Then I dragged this new image on top of old one in scene. I did not delete the BG actor as I did not want to mess up anything in the orignal template (the irony of that is not lost on me!)
I checked the Layers, and could see the original BG file still in the correct position. So here is what I then tried:
I took a step back and removed the new image. Then, I worked on the BG actor instance in the scene (not the Prototype), and changed that image. That worked, it is in the back layer and I can see the other actors on top. But, when I want to make new scenes using the (new) BG image, do I have to change each instance individually? I'm sure there must be a way to do this, any guideline you guys can give me about changing an image (when using pre-built templates) without having to delete (and therefore lose the Rules/atributes etc), would be much appreciated.

I don't doubt this is a silly and probably obvious problem for those with experience of Gamesalad, but I am finding the basic stuff is not really explained in the Cookbook. I am getting my head around the difficult stuff with more ease!

Many thanks for all your posts above. @GLGames thanks for the heads up about actor order in the layers. Will keep an eye on that.

    Cheers
