can I compare an attribute with an entire column of my table?

Do you mean search for an attribute among all cells in a column? Then yes, you can write a loop that does that.

Take a look at my post here: http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/41887/i-can-make-a-loop-in-the-gs. Just insert the code you want for comparing attributes (e.g. when game.searchKey is tableCellValue(TableName,Row,self.LoopCounter) ... [whatever action you want to happen]).
