New Android app store from Yandex

I can honestly say I have never heard of Yandex, but you can upload and sell apps on the store here:

More background info would be a bonus, I'm gonna do some research too but would appreciate any insight ;)

On the same note, has anyone come across any market share figures for the android app market?

    Yandex is like google in Russia. They have the biggest Russian search engine, maps, video hosting and other stuff.

    Can we sign up for these store? Seems that our android versions should work on there, right?

    Yeh, theres a few stores worth checking out like GetJar as well.

    I guess the only issue for me is that I used letterboxing and some companies have been rejecting apps with black bars.

    Some other things to consider is app licensing. I'm not sure how well protected our applications are from illegal distribution. Does anyone know anything about protecting gamesalad built apps and how/why apps would be illegally distributed for free?
