    @future_games_101 It should be... I would Google that real quick but I don't see why it wouldn't be. @robbingram Thank you! :) I found Android x86 about 6 months ago and I loved it. It makes it very easy to test things. The only downside is you need to download a few things to get the App Store and sound working on it but it isn't too hard to do. It just takes a little patience and time. ;)

    Partition your HDD and install Android x86 on one half, keep windows on the other. (Make sure to only give Android something like 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, etc.)

    is this going to mess up my pc, or slow it down?

    Well, it depends on if you know what you're doing with it. It should not make it slower in terms of Window's loading time but it will take about 10 extra seconds to boot because it has to ask you which OS you want to boot. That means when you turn on your PC it will display a screen saying "Please select the operating system you would like to boot. If you don't do anything in the next 10 seconds, Windows will automatically boot." The other choice is to use Virtualbox and have it in a virtual PC. That would be safer.

  • SolarPepperStudiosSolarPepperStudios Member Posts: 754
    @future_games_101 Yup, I can.
    1. Go to http://www.virtualbox.com
    2. Download the latest version
    3. Go to http://www.android-x86.org
    4. Download the version of Android you want
    5. Install Virtualbox
    6. Make a new virtual machine (follow the on-screen steps)
    7. Edit the virtual machine's options to your liking.
    8. Go to the media tab in the machine's options (where the virtual hard drive is located) and in the virtual CD/DVD drive choose the iso file you downloaded from Android x86.
    9. Hit done and press Start to turn on the VM. (Make sure no other apps are running to ensure good performance)
    10. Follow the on-screen instructions.

    @future_games_101 No problem! If you need help on how to get sound/Google Play etc. go to the Android x86 website I posted above. They have How-to's and tutorials on how to do such things. Enjoy! :)
