app for Writing a book/screenplay?

Hi, I have a great book/screenplay idea but i want to put it up on apple. Does anyone know of a good program that can help me publish a book to apple or the others.. Something easy and cool like gamesalad preffered. Thank you for your thoughts!

Final Draft is typically the choice for most folks that are serious about screenwriting.

Most anything with serious features, support and "ease of use" will require some $$, but for what you need now, check out the free options in that same link.

I was a television and film screenwriter and was signed to a WGA agency and know the business. A screenplay will go nowhere without an agent. Studios will not even read speculation scripts without it being submitted through an agency.

So first I guess I will sign up with The Writers guild of America. I'm new but i feel that I have a great screenplay that can turn into an awesome movie. I have read many books on how to write screenplays and i feel it's really good.

I have no idea what i'm doing lol but I figured why not try it, right? It says on there web page (Writers Guild of America) that i should submit it for a contest. I would love to be a television and film screenwriter.

@FryingBaconStudios would I have seen anything you've written/co-written? I'm particularly interested as my writing partner and I have been working on some sitcom ideas for a few years now and currently have some submissions waiting for review with the BBC. It's a tricky business to break in to for sure!

Click the link in my signature frying bacon studios and on that site you will find a few of my spec scripts written during my sitcom days in the 90s. On there I have a Seinfeld script, a Third Rock From The Sun script and a Friends script. I studied under Stanley Ralph Ross who's credits include, All In The Family, Cosby Show and Murder She Wrote. In fact I have a pilot for an original sitcom fully written that I've been sitting on for years and a couple movie scripts. One of the movie scripts @RP and I plan on Turing into a console game.

@wildthing630 one doesn't just join the WGA you earn the opportunity after having a script purchased for a movie or having X number of credits on a television show. In other words it's a chicken and the egg senerio. You need to get the WGA list of approved agencies and write a submission letter to them. If they desire to look into you they will reply with a letter including a waiver of copyright suit which allows them to read a script of yours without you suing them if one their other represented writers does something similar. Take it from me it's a tough business to get into and you thought game making was tough to succeed in..lol. Game making is a cake walk compared to Hollywood! Good luck.

Thanks, I'll take a look through those, it's always interesting to see other people scripts, in fact I prefer to read through a good script than to read a book

Final Draft is the main one but I use Scripped and it's basically the same.

Free or small price monthly, accessible anywhere and has all the various formats for film, TV, theatre, index cards, etc.

I used to produce Indie Music Videos/Corporate Videos in the UK and nobody really cares whether you use Final Draft or not - all about what you write, not what program it was written on!

Wow! Thank you, yea i feel overwhelmwed n such. I know its but i just want to do this one script. I have done this as a hobby recently, i'm just gonna try to market it as best as i can i guess. I know its good, i had friends read it n they liked it alot. I guess i need to find a partner in this biz too lol

Have you read Lew Hunters Screenwriting 434? Lew was the premiere screenwriting professor at UCLA most great Oscar wining writers were his students. It's the screenwriters bible. A great book about being a screenwriter in Holywood is adventures in the screenwriting trade.
