Help Getting started with GS

Hi Gamesalad, i'm brand spanking new to Gamesalad and have a couple of (what i think) are really good game ideas but i'm having a problem getting to grips with the whole aspect of it.. i've been through the cookbook vids (most of them) but cant get my head around it.. i think i'm trying to do something too complex before i know the basics.. does anyone have any good literature i can read or alternative tutorials / advice for me when getting started?

Many thanks, much love!

My advice is quite simple. Start with small and easy projects. When you start off with big projects you will never finish them and it doesn't make sense at all. So try something simple first ;)

Write down your ideas, you will notice the point when you're ready!

I would also suggest finding a good template and dissecting it. Try to recreate the template an change stuff in there and play around with it.

I did that and it helped a lot. Also check out the below links for more videos and other helpful tools.

Cheers for the mention mounted88 we have a lot of free templates and if you download our free tool the resource centre you got them all in one place.

It takes time to learn but luckily GS is the easiest option so you've come to the right place.

Hey not a problem you guys and other people help me learn a lot, because it was a hell of a transition from (the other engine you make games for ;) ) to gamesalad.

There are a few Gamesalad books available, I've looked at a couple but not all of them. They were a little helpful when I was learning, but I must say spending time following online tutorials helped me the most.

As well as those mentioned above I have a few at my site, in my signature, too.
