Would it be possible to make a Wii game in GameSalad?

Hi GameSalad
I am about to make a big platfom game in GameSalad, but it is not fun to play big platform games on iPad or iPhone. Therefore I wonder if it is possible to make the game work on Wii, Wii u or DS in GameSalad?

Any answers will be greatly appreciated. :-)

Not at the time (I wish you could, though). GameSalad mostly wants to focus on improving the engine as it is right now, and then expand to other platforms. Also, Nintendo is very strict about which developers can develop for their systems, so I don't know if they ever will, unless they radically change their position, although the other console developers might. A similar engine, Multimedia Fusion, already supports Xbox 360 publishing and is working on support for the PS Vita. I don't like those platforms though, but that is just my opinion. If you want to use GameSalad, and do not want to make mobile games, you should make PC/Mac games for now, and hopefully they will expand to new platforms, such as WiiU and 3DS.

Sure you can make small games it just takes a wii bit of effort.
Duh duh..duh. Thank you, thank you. I'll be here all week.

If your goal is to shoot for consoles and plan on doing so before the generational shift takes place, another engine would be a good idea...GS is a very good 2D engine, but as stated above don't expect to see the Major players to add it to their support line up anytime soon. Gotta get out of beta and offer more features first.

I would LOVE to see a Gamesalad game on the 3DS, that would be awesome, but also at the same time pretty tedious I would think when working with the 3D due to your computer not having 3D on it. (Unless you have some prototype Mac that Apple is secretly working on that supports 3D on it.(Holy crap what if they are?))

The cheapest robust multi platform kit is Unity. It does not support 3DS. 3DS is a propriatary development kit sold by Nintendo to approved developers.

The other kick is even if you have a third party kit that supports console publishing, you still need a track record of mid to big budget consumer console and portable games. There are also publishing costs which are... pretty high up there. Even with Microsoft and Sony trickling in the indie support, there is a lot of expenses, quality and experince requirements just to get from point A to point B. Nintendo on the other hand, has not been as friendly to the indie market mainly due to their Nintendo "seal of approval" type standards.

Yeah console licenses can cost upwards of $20,000 and as @rp said that is if you can get approved. It's not like the App Store. You have to have a history of making class A games.

With how indie friendly the Wii U is, even spotlighting indie releases in their Nintendo Direct video I would love to see an publish to Wii U option someday.
