Adhoc - what am I missing + anyone with a 3G phone want to test Quake Builder?

Good evening,

Been trying to get my mate to test Quake Builder on his 3G phone, (it runs well on 3GS).

I've tried twice now but failed,

I've made a new Provisional Devoloper Adhoc profile, downloaded certificate, got him to install in his itunes on his MacBook. He then unzips the app file which I have published via GameSalad using the correct profile from the drop down menu.

But when he goes to install the app he gets the error message:
'The application 'Quake Builder' was not installed on the iPhone 'Big D's iPhone' because the signer is not valid.

As I've only ever tested on my own iphone 3gS I can't think where its going wrong. Unless he has given me the wrong serial number thing for adding devices in provisioning on apple developers site.

Any ideas where I could be going wrong.

Lastly anyone out there with a normal 3G or same spec ipod touch and would be interested in testing Quake Builder. I simply want to know if it can handle the gameplay.

does your friend need to have xcode (I have no idea)?

He needs an adhoc provisioning profile and you must do a build for release (under a distribution certificate), I am about to do this myself in a few days so I might be asking you?!? He doesn't need xcode just itunes.
