    You would need a server for online multiplayer, but you wouldn't need one for local multiplayer, right?

    @brickamator this was answered in this thread already. It's for pro only, there will be tiers of sorts for pro usage.
    thanks sorry for bugging you!! ;-)

    So, will it be free?

    ;)

    On a more serious note, will there be the option for some people who have their own servers to integrate stuff into that, bypassing the GS ones?

    It might be nice as an option. I mean I don't have a server, but it would allow a bit more control my end if I did.

    It could also alleviate any strain/cost for the GS crew maybe.

    Another concern I have is the cost of piracy.

    What I mean is, say 100 people bought your multiplayer game. However, 300 *more* people are playing a pirate version of your game.

    If GS are charging extra for the extra usage, I worry that resentment will build from those having to pay extra for increased usage thanks to pirated games.

    Just a thought. Looking forward to asynchronous multiplayer though. Gets the ideas flowing, doesn't it? :)

    QS =D

    That's a really good point about piracy QS, that hadn't crossed my mind.

    To send info to the server it may need a pasword so unless other poeple got your pasword you will be fine.

    There is some anti-piracy software that gamesalad could build into the engine if needed.
