everything already seems nice, but the bird is quite big? and the shark doesn't look very smooth? the art is already very nice. I like the cartoon look! can you already give some information about what you have to do in the game? I can see a catapult...
@DeepBlueApps Here is the narrative. IN the US Navy when a fleet hasn't been to port in over 60 days the Admiral stops the fleet and they have a day of R&R called "steel beach." The crew can drink beer, barbecue, swim in the ocean et... We take that concept one step farther with the crew getting out of hand launching each other off the ship using the aircraft carrier's plane catapult. The ship can be rotated 360* where which you aim to land on points of interest and gain points or get eaten by sharks, blown up by sea mines and other hazards. The cool thing is you can zoom out and see the whole area which is quite large and aim the ship. The controls work like a video golf game would with a power tap and tap to lock in power level button. As shown below.
@timolapre1998 Yes this is very early in development just doing basic physics test and seeing how things look and translate. The bird will be smaller but remember its set up so you're looking high above the ship aka the cloud cover so objects, like the bird and plane will be larger as they are closer to your view aka the camera.
Nah there will be some tweaks. Already being tweaked.
We decided we wanted a simpler design this time around. So I went with a comicy/playmobil/kids playset look. I always dug how scale can be off with these things and still work.
Just to keep it up to date, here is a more recent version of the main screen/menu screen. I tossed some animations in there too.
Sharkies wanna help, by catching you with their mouths. It's totally harmless. Really.
Yeah, there will be obstacles like sharks, seagulls palm trees and such. It's all about plotting your trajectory and getting from point A to point B with enough umph.
Hey thanks for the compliments guys and for the curiosity. It's still brewing. I'm currently really spread thin in my new app-dev gig working a few different roles. I'm working some whack hours right now while we get new stuff rolling. I've got a few projects to manage (and new ones that always get inserted in between everyday) out of the way. We've been working on some assets, working on game design features and added some new ideas. It's coming. Once we break into this new year, we'll be making bigger strides to get to completion.
Yes it's still on going. I was tied up finishing a huge app for Dewars Whiskey and just finished it up last week. We added some major new ideas to the gameplay that is going to add another different element to it. Now after you shoot your allotted swimmer out, those that survived you must fly around with a rescue helicopter and pick them up before the allotted time runs out. You lose the ones you fail to rescue.

I don't think this art will be the final look? ^^
