Signed App or Unsigned App (Publishing question)

Hi there,
basically I'm ready to submit my app. And I just want to know, since I will not be installing my app on my device meaning its not an adhoc build but for submission to apple's app store, do I have to sign my app after generating it in the publishing gamesalad site or do I need to download the unsigned version and submit it to apple?

    All iPhone,iPad apps need to be signed with a distribution profile.

    @FryingBaconStudios @KevinCross thanks guys. I've done it. since 4am this morning, I have been trying to use application loader but I can't log into it because I'm using a different apple id. basically my itunes connect login is different from my ordinary apple id, and application loader keeps asking me for that ordinary apple ids login password.

    I have read articles and even the apple guide about how to solve this problem which they stated I have to go to the Window tab in application loader and click on 'sign in as'; however that option is not clickable when ever I open my application loader. So I think I'm going to call Apple today

    Set up the sign in using Xcode. Open Xcode and in window go to organizer and hit refresh in the lower right it will ask you to sign in. Click store the login.
