High Score

in Working with GS (Mac)
So the player has 3 lives, at the end of the last life I want the score to be saved on the top of the screen(in the title). I have a watched a few high score tutorials but none of them fit my need. I also need my score to be saved, and if the next game the score is lower it not to change. Im not even sure where to start.

    Check out the attached demo, I threw together for you. On the left is the high score and the right is the score. Check out those actors and you should be able to figure out how to add that to your game. You can test it and hit refresh on the preview and will see the high score will stay in place with out resetting, and when your score does go over the high score the high score will keep adding.

    Hm. Here's a video of it. Still not working, any ideas?

    What are your scene actors? Did you revert back to the prototype again ;)

    My display high score is not prototype. But everything else is. Thats what I want correct? @mounted88

    You can edit the actor in the scene and that's fine. But you will always have to do edits within that scene it will never be the same as the prototype.

    It's a good practice to try your best to use the prototype, but there will be cases you won't be able to use the prototype.

    The only reason I asked is because in your video you just showed the prototypes and not the actors in the scene.

    Hope this makes sense.

    Alright, so the high score display will only work if its not prototype? What do I need to do? :-?

    Go into your scene actor and copy all the rules and put them in your prototype and then revert your scene actor back to prototype and that should be good to go.

    @mounted88 oh, by the way, this will be an app, so say the player closes the app, will the score still be there?

    The high score should load yes. I recommend testing it before you upload to the app store

    If you hit refresh in the creator preview it acts like when a app is closed and reopened. So you can test to see if the score is saving that way also.
