help needed to get character to move left and right whilst it jumps automatically

hi guys....i need help please to code my character correctly ... I've tried everything and done it as in utube vids but it still doesnt work...i created the left / right buttons and the character does bounce but it wont respond to "touch" command for left/right please advise where my coding is wrong

    Can't do that with that explanation sorry. Brings up too many questions.

    Please type out all the code you are using or use some screen captures or upload a demo project and people can perhaps help :)
