Debunk this myth

When I am testing my app on a device while synced with GS creator via a wifi connection. While IM playing the test on my device. The creator is showing me data on the left hand side of the screen. The frames Per second section, is that fps on device yes or no? Is what the creator registering as FPS anywhere close to what the device is actually doing at that moment.

I need this myth once and forever proven or debunked.

FPS on device, it is close to what is going on, but not an accurate representation of how it will run in adhoc mode.

You want to use xcode instruments to get a real idea of how it's going to perform. You can see a tutorial here:

Thanks John. SO if GS creator is saying 59-60 and never dropping below 58 then its safe to say things are going good on the device?

in my experience yes, but I don't trust anything performance related coming out of the viewer. I switched to doing adhoc builds 100% of the time a year or so ago. you get a 100% true representation of how everything will work (including screen rotations!)
