i need help asap for developing/testing my app !

So I'm following a tutorial of testing my game salad app on my iPad, i have the apple developer and certificate, i have the same app store accounts on my mac and iPad, i followed all the instructions and it all worked fine until i reached the Xcode steps. i have the newest version of Xcode. the problem is with the Xcode organizer, it won't show my iPad under devices no matter what i do. the first time i tried it, my iPad was shown under devices, but it said i needed to press "trust" on my iPad, however that notification never showed up. so i unplugged my iPad and plugged it in again but it never showed under the devices again. I've been trying to figure it out for hours and I was going to publish my app a long time ago but i just can't fix this problem! thank you for any help!
