    Text in an icon can be hard to read and is sometimes looked down upon. You may want to take that into consideration.

    thanks @Braydon_SFX yeh i had a little think about that, i also have another icon exactly the same as this but without the text, so if this txt one is hard to see on the device ill change it to the other.

    Also don't forget if you publish to the tizen store square looks out of place as their icons are round. Just another heads up on icon things.

    When creating my icons, I always use this .PSD template.

    @CodeMonster
    I found this just now, haven't read it fully nor have I tried this because I don't use Inkscape, but give it a try :) http://kodira.de/2013/11/ios-7-app-icon-template-inkscape-svg-editor/

    If it doesn't work, you can always trace over an image of an iOS7 icon.

    Also remember the icons going to be very small so the main features should be much larger.
    You can use this website to test what the corners look like and you can also test exactly what your app will look like on your device.

    I'd make the candy cane be a complete border, drop the text and really focus on the guy. People are going to see the name next to or under the icon, no need to repeat it.

    oh ok, ill remake it and yeh the candy cane was all around the border but the website cropped it.

    but ill remake the candycane all around the border, remove the text, make the player bigger ect.. thanks!

    i think if you do that it will really make the icon pop!

    @jonmulcahy what about now? :D if this doesnt look appealing please help/give ideas :)

    Personally I think you should sharpen the colors to make the whole icon "pop". If you look at many of the icons in the appstore, they are really bright and colorful. Just some thoughts :)

    I think that looks much better, but I'd also take into consideration what @dues said.

    - I'd make sure the curve of the candy cane border matched the curve of the icon. if you look in the corners they are a little different.
    - I'd remove the glossy effect, most apps in the store have done away with them, especially with iOS 7.
    - I'd play around with the colors of the candy cane and character. I like the shades of them a lot, but you want them to really pop. right now they kind of blend in with the background blue.

    i hate designing icons. I go through at least 10 versions it seems for every app, and I always think I miss something.
