Tizen in trouble - not coming to Japan

http://www.pocketgamer.biz/r/PG%2EBiz/Tizen/news.asp?c=56696

Having recently suffered a setback in the US, word has hit the web that Samsung's new OS Tizen may have also run into trouble in the east.

Japan's largest carrier NTT DoCoMo has backed out of it's original plans to launch the Korean giant's new platform in the region this March.

A spokesman for the company has claimed the "market is not big enough to support three operating systems at this time."

What does this hold for the platform?

Definitely looking like Tizen will be DoA but hopefully GameSalad were sensible enough to sign a contract that guarantees the payments regardless of if the platform is a bust. One must presume so!

That sucks, the market is tough right now so things like this happen. I'm just not looking forward to filtering through more blame game topics, as this contract was probably signed back in early 2013. #-o
