I'm pleased to announce the release of a new 100% free template for those using Tables with GameSalad.

image

The template allows you to view your tables whilst previewing for quick play testing and debugging.

The tables can be scrolled both horizontally and vertically, cells can be highlighted to help keep an eye on certain cells and data.

The below video shows 'Stormys GS Table-izer' in action as well as how simple it is to add your own tables to it.

(Up the quality to see the finer details)

Hopefully it will help those making complex games which make use of tables plus those who are currently tinkering with the new multiplayer behaviours available to Pro users with the nightly builds.

Why is it free? ... Because I'm really really nice... or because I want to make a multiplayer game and if it helps others figure that stuff out then great!! .... you decide.

Too add it to your games, either do a bit of copying and pasting, build your game around it, or use a tool like Deep Blue Apps GS Merger...

Good luck, download and enjoy...

:-) Glad you all like it...

If you can see anything that would be a helpful extra let me know...

I'll probably update it when I use it for my own projects.

Quick bump for anyone that might have missed this before.

I'm going to add a couple of extras to this later...

Thinking it would be handy to save a selected value to a separate box at the top...

Also having the cell row/column numbers visible would be handy too.

Plus an update button (or update on a regular timer), to ensure the info in the cells is regularly updated...

(Lastly and completely unrelated, but who does'nt love gadget news... even when its my own gadget news... I've just ordered a 16gb Moto G Android phone for Android game testing (they're so well priced for the spec of the phone)... it's only taken me 4 years to get round to getting an Android device).

One last bump... to help people know this is here... then I'll let it go... to be free in the wind... flying high and doing what ever it is free templates do out in the wilds of the internet, living in a ancient world of old forum posts, myth and legend...

    Thanks @StormyStudio, you're very generous.

Sometimes it is tedious or impractical to adjust the parameters of the game stored in a table, making play in the simulator, stop, back to the table, change the value, do play again, etc..
It would be very useful to adjust some parameters of the game, during the same gameplay, this is easy to do ... however, I have not been able to do, is how at the end of these adjusts, save this table to load it into the project development.
Unfortunately the function to export a table as cvs, not available during the "play".

I have an idea, maybe you can build a string with all the values in the table, and this string and have the cvs format. So you could copy this string from the debugger and save it as a text with cvs extension.

Maybe there is a better way to do this.

    I think that's a topic for another post :P

    Thank you! :)

    I did it!!! :)

Thats cool. And certainly something that could be built on even more with the Get/Send URL functions in the new Pro Nightlys.

I have it... @StormyStudio is it okay if I post the file?

@StormyStudio is this still available? Can't seem to find it anywhere...

@rainwaterstudios @StormyStudio hasn't logged in for a while so I'm going to assume it's okay, especially since it was a free template.
