Glossy Icon Overlay is Dead.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but the glossy icon overlay has gone in iOS7 (http://hicksdesign.co.uk/journal/app-icon-changes-in-ios7)

It appears on the GS publish page as a checkbox still (time to remove it guys) and appears in my iTunesconnect page for my App icon but when published to the store it is removed. I had forgotten to check the box as I did not want it to appear and thank god Apple has removed it, I always hated the look.

very interesting. I've always had it off so I could control what the icon looked like. never liked the extra gloss

Hmm it is strange. I forgot to turn mine off when I published and it still has it on the iTunes Appstore but not when I download it.

Yeah I hate the gloss. Don't know why, but to me it just seems unprofessional. And with now the minimalistic theme popping up everywhere, it really make it look 3D in a way, thus killing the flat theme.

I would have thought it was the opposite @Braydon-SFX the gloss was about making it look 3d?

I seen what it looked like with my first app and never liked it ... Have never used it as the icon looks much better without it ... ;-)
