any developers from australia who submit paid apps to the store? i need your help please!!!

hello for the past week iv been trying to setup an ABN (Australian business number) i need an ABN and a GST to be able to sell paid apps on the apple app store, to get a GST i first need an ABN and i cant seem to apply for one, at the end i always get "application refused, you are not applicable to apply for an ABN"

i know i am able to apply, but maybe im missing something? im applying as a sole trader,
has any other Australians applied for this? if so can you please help me as i am getting very frustrated.

    Have you tried calling and talking to the people at what ever government agency are denying you? Surly they would be able to help solve your issues better than a bunch of game developers. :)

    @CodeMonster I set up mine as a company with no issues. I have a friend who is setting up a dance studio as a sole trader and she got the same answer as you "application refused" I got her to call the ATO and explain her situation then it got approved after that. You need to call the ATO explain your situation then all will be good. If they have a problem with your application you will find out exactly what the issue is then you can rectify it ...
