Ooh might be time to finally get around to selling my poker-hand template. Looks great!

I just spent a few hours making a Tableless Tetris game for the fun of it, shouldn't take very long at all to whip up an actually sellable version using tables. (It was a ton of fun solving the problems of making it without tables, but it'll be 100% more efficient with them :D)

Or the custom font template I made for one of my games that allows custom number fonts to be centred/left/right aligned and grow/shrink dynamically.

    SO MANY POSSIBILITIES.

I'll probably get sidetracked and forget entirely, knowing me.

One question though. The terms and conditions say that if a customer wants a refund, it must be handled directly between seller and customer. So if I sell a $50 template and a customer asks for a refund (perhaps they bought the wrong thing by mistake), the seller is essentially $10 out of pocket?

@Armelline While we get very few refunds/mistakes the developer would not be out of pocket because we would honour our share and return it to the buyer so you would refund $40 we would refund $10.

I agree! When we release the new GameSalad marketplace later this spring it'll be a massive improvement (the submission flow in particular).

Is the point of this one solely for 3rd parties and you keep DBA for you?
  • jamie_cjamie_c ImagineLabs.rocks Member, PRO Posts: 5,772
Thats great news! Can't wait to check it out and use it! :)

@beefy_clyro‌ Yes Wayne and I will still be making stuff for DBA but we've had sooooo many email requests wanting us to set up a market we gave in :)

We have some great vendors onboard and some more coming this weekend.

    Darren.

Ok cool, makes sense. Will there be a way of separating the more 'premium' content shall we say so it doesn't get buried by a load of …. well …. crap!

Been debating releasing the full source behind my LAD series atm … Hmmmm haha

Wow! this looks great. It'll provide some great opportunities. My only complaint is 20% seems a little high. I'm no expert and have never ran an online store before so feel free too disregard this comment but at first sight it just seems high. Apple does 30% but it is a 500 million+ User platform. Maybe somewhere around 10%-15%?
Again sorry if that's ignorant of me but it was just my first thought.

20% seems pretty competitive for a service like this. I certainly not complain if it got lowered, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it was 20%.

@Armelline agreed, some other site takes 30 to 40% im very happy that deepblue market only takes 20%
  • jamie_cjamie_c ImagineLabs.rocks Member, PRO Posts: 5,772
20% seems totally fair to me.

30% is common. 20% actually looks generous relative to other sites.

@beefy_clyro Yes we can have banners for premium exclusives (see Gone Batty & RagDog) and also feature it so it stays at the top, along with a newsletter, twitter, Facebook to our users etc etc.

We've been seeing users actively promoting there wares by linking back to there vendor page.

Spoke with Darren the other day and I'll be using their new service to post, what I hope will be the first available multiplayer game template. I'm about knee deep in it and it's coming along great! It will also come with a video series and documentation. @RP and I will be designing complete multiplayer starter templates with sign in and game lobby with different skins.

P.S. 20% cut is a very fair fee for using someone's system to sell ones product.

Just spent some time thoroughly annotating my poker hand calculator, will be submitting it soon!

When you see how absurdly simple it really ends up when it's all broken down you'll probably be surprised :D

Ok guys forum rules as they stand right now states
"Advertising your website where you sell your personal templates - this rule returns to its previous stance - no advertisements of personal websites outside of the "Third Party Links" thread or an unobtrusive link in your signature. (no images, please)"

This thread has gone way beyond just advertising dbas new marketplace. It's being used as a pseudo support thread for the new market.

I've got a message into GS hq to find out if they are changing the forum advertising rules but in the meantime I'm gonna go ahead and close the thread.

I will reopen if its determined appropriate after talking with @dgackey‌

    Cheers
    Aaron
