how to import old game into new game

I don't know what I did but when i try to make a pause button on my game it doesnt work at at all. I looked up another ways of it but it still doesn't work. Anyway, I made a new project and made a new pause button on it and it worked no problem. So is there a way to import te pause thingy i made into my real game? if not its gonna take me a good 2 hours or more to do what I did on my old game onto my new project. And that just ticked me off lol
