I stumbled upon this thread after searching for 'in game analytics'... can I ask if Appformative is working well for those who implemented it?

This might not be the most ethical place to ask, but what other alternatives are there that offer the same user insight?

I can say that the service is seeing heavy usage, bigger and faster than anticipated.

Apart from the detailed action specific analytics, we are also supporting developers in implementing specific backend server needs and hosting them, e.g.

• localized leaderboards
• in app messages
• event management and special offers
• anti cheating mechanisms
• price lists
• etc.

The backend is continuously expanding, as the demand increases.

Does the game have to be an AdHoc build for the features to be tracked or should I be able to test them in preview?

You can use preview to test.

Each new preview is seen as a new user, whereas the refresh button on the preview page will simulate a returning user.
