    You don't have to pay Gamesalad anything but if you want to publish your game on the Apple App Store you'll need to pay the $99 annual fee for that.

    Edit: the fee I mention above is paid to Apple not Gamesalad.

    The free version includes ads in your game while the Pro version allows you the choice of disabling those ads or including ads that gain you revenue.

    Yes, every scene. You're supporting GameSalad's ability to provide the software and publishing engine for free. You can certainly build apps with a single scene to avoid too many ad experiences or you can upgrade to Pro to avoid ads altogether.

    My advice is to use the free version of Creator to learn to use the tool well and then when ready to publish your first complete app, go Pro.
