Paid or free consultation for project needed.

Hey folks. Big project idea...backed by a potential client. He doesn't know he will be a client. Lol. But when I show him my 2 ideas....jaw drop...hook set....reel him in or For myself.

But first I need a consultation with a "guru" to see if GameSalad is capable of my idea. I am asking...if someone would be willing to have a consultation with me. Most likely it will lead to a paid job either teaching me how to get it started or building the front end and tables. It would end up a contract job whatever happens and a confidential policy included.

Sure I've been tinkering with games but it's not my day job...I'm very good at my day job...so "good" I'm ready to make 2 apps to make my "millions"....and it's not even a game, however I do believe it totally within the realm of capabilities of GS.

Scope: Bidding Software.

Uses an excel sheet/s to grab variable numbers. Has multipliers. Allows user defined inputs (numbers).

It would be for iOS and Mac. Eventually all Platforms (nook, Windows 8, Kindle and so on)

I really hope to hear from someone. Someone with advance tables knowledge.

Hmm. Bidding. Interesting. Updating values etc is possible, Sure, but I don't see how you'll send payment within the app?? Obviously I haven't heard the big picture yet so I'm not sure exactly how it'll work.

Let me elaborate a bit....there would be no pay from within app...bidding means you provide a general cost as not to exceed.

Imagine me sitting at my Mac or iPad at a desk looking at prints....I gather I formation, wether it be 15 light fixtures...200' of conduit with wire and such. I then use this software to generate a cost I then tell the customer. They then accept it decline. (Not from within app...they don't know about the app....this is on the contractors side of bidding....not the customer side of project I may be bidding.

What would be the specific benefit over a spreadsheet?

@Armelline‌ Currently my bidding guide I have created is in an excel spreadsheet. If modified correctly I assumed in could be part of my quarterly update to laid customers who buy the app. Again I don't know tables. I am assuming. I DO want the user to have some control over the numbers...some of them...but the guts of the app would be locked and I thought grabbing numbers from a spreadsheet. And...and....if thus asynchronous server thing is what I think it is....I would want the info on one so the app would grab the info there. But now I'm going places my body can't cash....lol

It feels and sounds large scope. It probably is but there are absolutely no real bidding software a available like I want to provide....Even my boss has to use a PC to bid...so do I. I want it on Mac...and so I want to rule that.

Thanks for the reply via thread and PM. I'm not in a rush. My first priority I to know can it be done. Maybe then a small test version. Just a few rows of "assembles" to test ad hoc. Once I know it can work...and what values to put in....over and over and over....I would take over the project.

As far as benefits vs spreadsheets...I can't market a spreadsheet as a tool for bidders in construction. Via the App Store and Google Play...platforms I believe I can.

Sounds interesting. I've used tables for a few projects but nothing with any server hooks ups yet. The back end coding of server connections scares me... lol :)

These Server thing is secondary. My primary objective is a stand alone app that I provide updates for....versions quarterly or 6 months.

I have been working on a couple of business apps (One for a client has been released) and have a lot of experience working with tables and different methods to display them. I sent you a pm.
