Hello yet again everyone! I’ve gathered some more updates for you since last weeks’ State of GameSalad post. Enjoy!

  1. New IAP behaviors. There’s been a lot of great information on the new IAP behaviors added to the Cookbook and in this thread so if you have any questions check these places first!: http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/72359/important-info-on-how-iaps-will-work-in-an-upcoming-release/p1

  2. The terrible issue that happened to one of our members recently (essentially having their game copied and uploaded to the app store). This has been fixed as of release 0.12.0 for Mac Creator!

  3. Release 0.12.0! (Previously referred to as 0.11.2.) This is our newest stable release as of yesterday! One feature that is in this release is in app purchases working for a lot of the larger platforms we support: iOS 8, Amazon, Google, etc.

  4. Release 12 for Windows users. (This is the Windows version of Mac creators’ release 0.12.0) As previously stated we are skipping release 11 for windows and going ahead and working on getting it up to snuff with macs’ release 12. Now that release 0.12.0 is live and stable for Mac Creator we are having another one of our developers working on release 12 for Windows. Progress should start to speed up some and however there is still quite a ways to go.

  5. Release 0.13.0. (Previously referred to as release 0.12.0. The first big release since 0.11.0. and planned to come out after release 0.12.0) Still a lot of issues being looked at and good progress being made! This release will have facebook integration and the new rendering system we’ve been working on!

  6. New nightly build for Mac. Not too much to update here. There's still some major issues that need fixing before this’ll be out. One of the major issues is still the memory leaks caused by using the change scene behavior. Feel free to follow the status of that bug here: http://bugs.gamesalad.com/show_bug.cgi?id=110

  7. New marketplace. Basically, the Marketplace is rapidly approaching the first milestone where we can browse by category! After this we’ll start looking at the marketplace’s design.

  8. Cross platform creator. Still a ton of great progress and per usual I can’t share any more sadly.

That’s all for this week. More info coming at you guys next week!

Great to hear the encoding has been fixed to stop straight rip-offs! Now I can submit my game to Apple after the final Beta testing. Encouraging

The GS Team's handling of the new IAP behaviours, even with detailed instructions, has been slick and quick. Three cheers! :D

I just noticed you guys deleted all the old Tshirt booth videos off the cookbook. wow a wealth of good knowledge down the drain. Most of those were still useful and timeless basic code stuff.

Hopefully that's because they're preparing a new series of video tutorials that are fully up-to-date.

    Hopefully.

They should wait until they have something to replace them with not just scrub them. Sometimes I wonder :s

Any timeframe on the Windows version 12? Originally, 11 was said to be due by "fall"... are we looking at winter? spring?

Can you guys please put most of those video tutorials back up. There are many that are still useful and a couple that I need to watch again. Why would you take those down?

Waiting for Windows as well. I hope it comes soon :/ .

I feel the wording here is a bit disingenuous. This has happened dozens of times over the past few years to numerous members, it was only when a member with enough profile that was affected that it started being taken seriously. It definitely didn't happen to "one" of your members.

Don't get me wrong, I'm delighted it's fixed and was taken seriously (this time), but it feels a bit like the problem is being downplayed.

i think this was the first time mentioned that someone downloaded a game and hacked it, all the previous times I've read about where instances were people uploaded a game to the arcade and had it ripped

You might be right, but this thread definitely sounded like App Store steals rather than Arcade steals:

    http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/55197/anyone-know-what-to-do-if-someones-stolen-your-games-and-selling-them-on-the-apple-store/p1

And that's just one of numerous threads.

@BlackCloakGS Any info about uploading games larger then 50mb to google play? using expansion files?
Ill keep asking cause i have games waiting to be published to google play.

Guys, if you build a game and its gonna take more then 50mb in size, you should
    vote for it: http://bugs.gamesalad.com/show_bug.cgi?id=188

@The_Gamesalad_Guru‌ I agree whole-heartedly that TS's videos are still valuable. I refer to them often. I trust what was removed is just what was on the GS site? I have a huge playlist on YouTube with most of them and everyone else's quality tutorials.

  • The_Gamesalad_GuruThe_Gamesalad_Guru Member Posts: 9,922

Yes GS only owned what was on their cookbook site and the rest are owned by GS Helper

Publishing games to iTunes requires a MAC computer. This is a requirement of Apple and not Gamesalad.
