Exporting Raw Code?
I've been messing around with Gamesalad for quite some time now, as a young developer (15 years of age) I'm wanting to further my understanding of coding. Gamesalad felt like a great stepping stone for me as I embark on this journey, so for simplicity sake without boring you with a rant;
Can I make something in Gamesalad, then find the raw code for it? Please do not send me links to coding tutorials or anything like that, I've watched them, I'd just like to be able to make something easily with gamesalad, lets say a calculator, and see what it's code looks like (Yes I know how to write out raw code to make a calculator too so don't post links to tutorials for that either :P)

Although when Graphene comes out, you'll have a choice of drag-and-drop and/or scripting:

It looks like one massive mess pile of code with no breaks or anything. Most likely equivalent to how the Gamesalad creator's code look like.
@Lovejoy what are you referring to?
Forgot to put the word would after "It". Meaning probably couldn't learn anything from it, even if possible. Just a guess.
But the "it" is Graphene? I guess that's a fairly pessimistic way to look at it, then.
Seems like we got a misunderstanding here, let me rephrase my comment. I was not referring to Graphene at all.
If there was a possibly of exporting gamesalad games to raw code, i would think that the exported code would look messy, equivalent of how the Gamesalad creator code base that said to be. So one would not be able to learn from it.
Im in the" Go graphene go" team! But i don't think an export option would be available in there either.
Oh, I did misunderstand you.
Graphene is going to allow scripting which means that you'll be able to view the source code. And since it's Lua/C or whatever, it should be formatted in the proper syntax and therefore user-friendly (to an extent that scripting ever is).
We made a tool a while back to convert GS projects into other SDKs like Corona for e.g. along with others but for obvious reasons we never released it.
Early versions of GS showed you the code but they stopped doing it years ago.
Hi!
I send you a pm but I'll write here too for the entire community.
So, what about this tool? Why you never released it? Is it possible to buy that somewhere?
Thank you!
Federico
@traceur93, That post is from 2015, long ago. @UtopianGames is pretty much gone from GS I believe but still does pop into the forums on occasion.
GS engine not allow to export projects for other platform or engines. And DBA never finished or release the tool.
