[Solved] Layers, actor overlap

edited February 2015 in Working with GS (PC)

Hello! I have a simple game where actors move across the screen in the Background layer, but when I add a spawning actor on Layer 1, the spawned actors show as being behind the Background layer actors. The strange thing is that if I move the Spawning Actor to the Background Layer, then the spawned actors appear on top. I'm guessing that is because I selected "In front of layer" in the Spawn dialog, but shouldn't they also appear on top of the Background Actors if they are spawned on Layer 1? Thanks for any advice!

The "Background" layer is named that by default but it's otherwise no different from other layers. For those actors to be behind "Layer 1" the Background layer has to be below Layer 1 in the Layers panel.

  • Thank you so much for answering, @tatiang. I didn't realize that about order in the Layers panel, just went with the Layer name... definitely the problem. Fixed and working, thanks SO much!!
