Is it possible to publish a game on iOS using a virtual machine on windows?

Hi,

I don't have a mac, I'm not planning to buy one either.
But I heard publishing to iOS requires a mac.

Would it be possible to publish a game to the appstore by using a virtual machine on WINDOWS running Mavericks OS?

I'm not sure how Apple validates the MacOS. Do you just need it as a platform?
Or do you need to provide some valid license codes /certificates to be allowed to publish on their stores?

Anyone got experience in this matter?

Yes you can run a boot leg version of Mac on your Windows PC. Apple will make you jump through hoops to prove that you are publishing through a Mac but using xcode through the bootleg will work too.

However, you may need Yosemite as Apple are checking developers are all using the latest iOS and latest Xcode.

Thank you for the fast reply.
May I ask what xcode is?
