Some of you guys have made some nice video screen shots of your game in action. How exactly do you do that? Thanks!

I used a piece of software called Snapz Pro X. It allows you to select a certain portion of the screen, and record it to a MOV file. Very useful. I'm using the trial version right now, 15 days of unlimited usage.

You could also use the Screen Record software in Quicktime X with Snow Leopard, but then you'd need to buy a copy of Quicktime 7 Pro to crop the video down to just the game screen.

iMovie works great to edit everything together.

How do you crop the video in Quicktime 7 Pro?

My Snapz Pro X trial ends soon, and if I already have Quicktime X it seems a bit silly to buy the full version.

But I can't work out how to crop to the vid in QT7 Pro...

I'm not sure exactly how to do it, I saw someone else mention it in another thread. I've been using Snapx Pro X.

I did find this on YouTube, but I havn't tried it:

Maybe you could zoom in (ctl-mousewheel), record, and then use something like VLC to export it at a smaller resolution.

The video can be cropped in iMovie.

At any rate, cropping in Quicktime 7 Pro can be done by creating a "mask" - search for that and you'll find what you need. :)

I used QT Pro because I couldn't get iMovie to do a straightforward crop to 480x320. Admittedly I was using an older verson, so YMMV.

Yeah, it wont completely crop, but for my vid it looks good. the frame rate kinda sucks though.
