Mystic Equine Vagabond

Some screenshots from MEV, which I hope to have finished in the next few months.

It's about a horse-headed wanderer and it features combat, puzzles and memory mazes.

I'll be posting progress updates and demos here as I go.

Wow, looks absolutely stunning, cannot wait for the video.

Duo you do the texture work all-digitally, or is there an analog element involved?

Thanks for the positive feedback! It's great to hear good things said when you've been working on something in isolation.

The textures are pen drawings. I work things out on paper first, then scan them and remake them as digital images. This time I re-introduced a lot of the pen work as detail/texture.

    Here's an example -

Thanks for the example. That's what I was thinking, and it's great! I really love the texture. Keep going!

    Here's some gameplay footage.

The game is still at a very early stage, but some of the mechanics are working now, some artwork is in place and I'm beginning to lay out the levels.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

The video is unfortunately low-resolution, but I really like the style!

I did disappoint myself with the low quality of the video...next time I'll try harder to do it properly.

    Good art deserves good presentation.

How did you record the video?

I think the reason it is low res is that I screen grabbed it from a smaller size than it's playing back at. Any tips in general about how to do it?

If you are on a Mac - use the built in QT screen recorder, open QT player > File > New Screen Recording.

Thanks @Socks! I had no idea you could do that. I'll definitely use that method next time.

Both + lots of mid-late 70s Prog Rock.
