Just so there is no confusion. Today I am saying goodbye to the username "The Gamesalad Guru." It's run it's course. After consulting my game development partner @RP, I've decided to strictly focus on our games and building up our brand. As you might guess our company is called "Lost Oasis Games." RP is currently doing FX for a film but once that is done he will be able to complete the art for two games we have currently in development. I won't be making videos anymore. I'll leave that up to others to care for. I also own a "Golden Books Property" and I will begin bringing that back to life. I may hire another coder and artist to work with RP and I on that. That's what I'll be focusing on.
One of the games is called steel beach where you launch a sailor off an aircraft carrier catapult.
Atom Smash which has an Atomic Art vibe.

Like the new brand and think it's a good idea to nurture one that won't ultimately and inevitably lead to problems once commercialised. Sorry to hear you're stopping the videos, but looking forward to seeing what games you come up with!

It's almost like you abused their trademark for years.
We've had this brand for years and published our "Puck It" game under it. Since then, we both got busy with our day jobs and were doing things in sputters. These are two that we've been picking away at. I've gotten atom smash 70% coded just need some last art elements and tune the gameplay. Kind of the same with steel beach, lots of the mechanics done but we have tons of animated effects in that one.

Not really. I haven't done anything with that for years. Since I partnered with RP a couple years ago we've been Lost Oasis.

Wow, I forgot how much stuff we had already gotten done on that. I'm not even sure where I have some of those old assets now. This has got to be with some of the earlier bits, that energy bar is making me cringe! LOL. That was a fun little world we were working in.

Sorry to be late on chiming in to the convo, but i think the path you are taking is the best one, @Lost_Oasis_Games (Dave) - I've been around long enuff to know that sooner or later, someone's going to get peeved when they think you're peeing in their pond and its just time to move on..
To that end, let this be a lesson for folks - you can be magnanimous and try to help folks with charity (ie videos, templates, etc) but make sure to cover yer ass in the process.. As Dave exclaimed in more than one vid, we're dealing with Business here and often times dollars and brands are at stake.
On the flipside, GS needs to remember that their community really supports their business and they should be a bit more mindful with what they post and how they manage their communities. Cease and Dessist orders? Really? There arnt better ways to manage the GS trademark and branding without torking the folks that help drive their product?
I for one am excited to play Steel Beach and the atomic game and will be happy to support these ventures..

Thanks @KnightStar! We appreciate the support! Lost Oasis is a ref to the lost American video arcade, when they really were an oasis/retreat from the real world. Now it's just cool and trendy to hang in these places (when you can find them). It wasn't cool then, it was a way of life. Ha!
