New HTML 5 Game (PLAY IT!)
So I needed a little sample game for my new website. Since @RP is busy and can't make me any art, I gave myself a challenge. Could I make a game comprised mostly of the Croutons on the Academy website? After about 5 or 6 hours total, I ripped this up. I did use two small images to round out the game but 99% of the game uses only those images. So I got all the images for free. I did buy two sound FX for $2.00 and everything else was free, except of course my months GS fee of $29.00 so this game cost me a whole $31.00 to make.
I'm still tweeking the gameplay but check it out and give me some feedback. http://fryingbacon.com/services/

Couple of things:
Not bad though. I've rarely made something so close to completion in 5 to 6 hours. My last game was less than a day but now I just take forever and never complete anything.
Yeah I can adjust that window.
that was all I had to use for a BG with the croutons..
There is only one key. It opens all the chests
You can make it. You can't hit much though..
. I made it hard as it's just one scene.
I might add more obstacles.
I think the background could look better by not being segmented and the player could swim a little faster. Also, if you could, make the screen bigger. It was a little hard to read the beginning text. And when the player dies he should disappear or explode into a ton of bubbles or something. Good idea and great work for under 6 hours.
Yeah that's a good Idea with the bubbles. I can do that. Yeah I may try cutting the dark edges off that image.
Cool, nice use of the Croutons.
Increased the window size. I also stretched out that background so it is one piece. Will update the file once I add more stuff.
@Lost_Oasis_Games its cool , the ship at the end of the scene should be behind the player
Sorry Dave but my honest feedback is i found it slow & boring
can't please everyone i guess.
That's what my son said..lol yeah I need to spice it up. That's why I asked for some feedback and ideas. It's not a finished product. Appreciate the honesty as that is what I'm after.
Needs sharks with appetites. The player should get schooled by fish as level up.
Thunken treasure...real deep thoughts locked away and hidden in the abyss.
If I knew an artist I could use a star fish and an electric eel...lol
Go for it. I've already got GOTM on my plate, plus client work....
When you wish...upon a star fish....
Lol
