Feature request: Ability to control alpha value of display text via expression editor

ArmellineArmelline Member, PRO Posts: 5,421

It would be very handy to be able to control the alpha of text using attributes/formulas. For example, to be able to tell text to fade in and out based on sin(game.Time), or to interpolate an attribute to change the opacity of the text.

@BlackCloakGS @GeorgeGS Any chance this is a reasonably simple thing, or is one of those "sounds simple but is a big headache" little features?

And while you're at it, the same should be done for color attributes of any actor. Sure would be nice to be able to set colors and alphas programmatically!

@Agent Argyle you can do this with a Change Attribute or Constrain Attribute on actors.

Yeah, expression capabilities for alpha AND color channels on text would be great!

You can already do this, see attached file . . . .

EDIT: just spotted Hopscotch had already answered this.
