Hey GS fam :#

Excited to formally introduce Polar Rollout - my first [upcoming] game and my part-time passion as a solo dev/artist. This is a physics-based action puzzler that features line-drawing mechanics and other cool physics elements as the adventure progresses (guide the character to the portal!)

ALPHA GAMEPLAY TEASER

Although nearly complete, I figured I'd start showcasing screenshots/progress since it's still in development.

If interested, you're also welcome to follow my progress via social media:

Facebook @PolarRollout
Instagram @PolarRollout

Feel free to also bookmark this forum thread as I'll post regularly, and I hope shedding light on my creative process will be entertaining as well as helpful to the GS community in some way.

More updates to come soon and thanks to all those that have helped me get this far!

Redesigned the level bg art for the first world (improved gradients, added sun, depth to snow)

    Hey guys,

Gonna try to start posting my WIP more regularly. Below is a promo banner and animation for the game. I should have more actual gameplay gifs real soon of the improved graphics!

Hey everyone! Here's another WIP snippet, this one from the beach world where you use cannons to launch and navigate around obstacles. This is one of many gameplay mechanics introduced as you advance through the game to add more to the challenge.

    More to come soon!

Looking awesome. One minor thing I noticed.

Maybe it's just me but the parralax in the latest GIF is jarring. The background horizon moves up/down a huge amount with the firing, but the middleground mountain doesn't at all (except for the regular bounce).

I'd expect the backgrounds to move less than the middle (and fore) grounds. Which is what you've done in the first gifs.

@imjustmike Thanks for the feedback! I noticed that too after creating the gif, it looks smoother during actual gameplay but I will make adjustments so that it isn't as apparent.
