Hi guys :)

New month new game. Finger Dungeon it is called.
If you have a couple of minutes to test it and give me feedback on it this would be helpful.

Thank you,
David

How to play:
Html version = click once and move the mouse
Mobile version= keep the finger on the screen or you lose

(for some mysterious reason the html does behave differently)

Game Link:
http://gsrca.de/134693

The link is privat and will be removed when the game is launched.
The game is build with 1.24.41 and stutter sometimes I am not sure if this is based on the amount behaviours or simple an engine issue right now.

So I am thinking of postponing the release until 1.25

Can't play it properly as I'm at work and I've got a glass meeting room behind me full of top bosses >.<

Looks cool though. I like it! I completed the first level.

I didn't fully read your forum post so couldn't work out while it kept dieing a second after pressing the hold here button. Thought it was broken. I was holding the mouse button down instead of clicking once.

    @KevinCross

    So thats good.

    Just a thought...

If you zoomed out you could give the impression you're being chased through the dungeon by having an actor at the bottom of the scene running behind (a bit like Temple Run)

    Very nice BigDave!

I just pictured a band of goblins brandishing clubs that jump on the ball when you hit a wall, which in turn causes the screen to fade to black as the light is extinguished and dies...

I like it, like the twist on the typical game play with the switches and obstacles.

I'll join the crowd... really liking it :)

I think you should do a crossover with Orcs! and have characters from your orcs game as pop-ups giving hints or instructions. Maybe use them for the things like @KevinCross mentioned. Seems too good an opportunity to not use and extend your Orcs! brand, with it being dungeon related and all...

    But yup...really liking the concept.

    Thanks guys!
Yep the initial idea was to have an Orc Advanced Dungeon expert, one eyed and scared giving you instructions or just comments.
To the idea of something hunting you is neat, there will be a banner at the bottom of the screen tough. It could still be something minor so it doesn't restrict the play area too much as I would anyways not give tit any dmg behaviour.

Overall the game is round and I wonder if I should add bigger stuff like this now or not.
The orc could bring some of my initial players over and also create more funny moments, the chasers could add some context to the auto-moving camera.

But it could also turn against me and appear somehow as too much as it has an certain elegance in its naked form. There is a lot of such simple games and apple likes them.
On the other hand there are a lot.

I will defiantly sleep over that two suggestions.
Could also be something doing while waiting for 1.25.

    Lets see ;)

    Btw:
    Did you feel the stutters?

Hey man Big dave, you have some great games in your account. If you are looking for partnership, then tell me, I know people who have finished their high quality games, and are looking for someone to publish with 50% revenue split. You seem like good marketer.

Very cool, man - I love the switches.

It's really fun and feels great. The art style's not for me, but it is bold and clean.

  • I like it dude!! Best of luck!!

I die immediately every time and I cannot work out why :(

Edit: Never mind, I didn't read the instructions and was clicking and holding.

  • BigDaveBigDave Member Posts: 2,239

@Armelline yeah for some reason the html version does that..
I use mouse button is down

@BigDave Your games always make me come back and play them again , i just beat 14 levels , but didnt get all the coins here is my feedback
1- The sound track is great it got stuck in my head
2- The art is good fits the gameplay really well
3- Game play is really smooth and the concept is really great
4- The game is challenging if im planning to get all the coins , but its easy to finish without them.
5- Now just to point the negative part although i enjoyed it but , game is really short , only 14 levels. I think you need to put more levels with few more obstacles.

    Goodluck wish you the best

Very Cool! It reminds me a little of Mmm Fingers.

  • BigDaveBigDave Member Posts: 2,239

    @Icebox1910

I will add more levels if enough people care :)

    @BazookaTime
yes thats the inspiration, I didn't like the hard difficulty there and wanted to do the same thing with a bit more space and meaning in action for the player

    Always great music.

  • BazookaTimeBazookaTime Member Posts: 1,274

I think you really have a great idea here. If you can find a way to get an endless mode working as well as adding in some more levels, you could have a hit.

  • BigDaveBigDave Member Posts: 2,239

hey ho I submitted today to iOS, google play and amazon.
But will not launch the others until the iOS is approved.
Launching them all on the same day.

The main issue I encountered was some game blocking issues after a couple of levels related to chartboost. I guess it happens when it tries to load an ad but has no more available and then the screen is lightly darkened and no input is accepted.

But since I can't influence that and its engine based I just submitted anyways.

@BigDave Very cool Man! This game is slick and fun. You've cranked out some real sparkly gems as a Dev!

It's always very hard to predict what game will be the major hit, but i must admit that this game got every chance to be one. Really enjoyable and fun little game.. I'm sure it won't take long before you have to add new levels :) Great job Dave.

@BigDave Great game. I love the music. It hyped me up better than coffee. :dizzy: If I just let the music play in the background, I'll get twice as much work done than usual! :D

Noodlecake just released Road to the King, kind of a similar game idea, nice and polished. Might be worth checking out.
