Do we have to update our apps?

So a lot of ios changes happend and the new iphone is here.

Anything we have to consider with our live apps?
Or the current gamesalad build is fine to update our apps?
Should we wait with updating them until gamesalad releases a new update?

Just wondering

I've been running some tests to make sure nothing crazy happens when ad hoc testing on iOS 10 devices (using the Sierra beta). I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary happen as of yet, so we may be in the clear :)

@ForumNinja - do you know if there'll be an update with the latest Chartboost SDK (6.5) incorporated?

The latest Chartboost SDK adds full iOS 10 compatibility and also gives us a 20% bonus period. Here's a link:

If you have not updated your app in a long time, be prepared to either update or have it removed. Apple is cleaning house, I got notifications from my first two apps that it's been so long since they have been updated I either have to submit an update or it'll be removed in 30 days.

as such of a pain as it is for me, it's good news. Hopefully they clean house :)

Just out of curiosity...how long since you updated them?

for these two, 3 years at least. but they were my first two. I'm sure they will be looking at anything over a year or two. If it was up to me, I would.

I wonder how this will apply to classic games like Tiny Wings, which is currently top 5 paid games in the US app store but hasnt been updated in 2 years.

I imagine that their first pass will probably look at apps that have a low download rate. If something is in the top 100 of any category, it's probably safe... but I wouldn't be surprised if they ask them for an update.

Apple sent me the same message about my oldest game, about 3 years also. It still runs perfect so I asked if it could be kept live, they tell me I need to rebuild and resubmit anyway.

@jamie_c , did you actually rebuild and resubmit? A friend of mine said he would just resubmit an app and write "bug fixes and improvements".

@mhedges, I haven't yet. I was planning on doing some updates maybe. But that is not a bad idea about just resubmitting the last build. I may do that since the updates might take me past the 30 days I have to do it. If I do that, I'll let you know how it goes.

Luckily review times are very snappy at the moment, my fastest was 7 hours from submission to approval. The longest have been around two days.

They seem to have more people on the job, anticipating the rush.

So, GS runs well on Sierra? Is it safe to update?
