GameSalad Pumpkin Carving Contest

Today is National Pumpkin Day, and I plan on celebrating by carving Bowlboy into a pumpkin! Below is the stencil I'll be using. Is anyone interested in having a carving competition?

A couple completely unnecessary pumpkin facts:

  • The word “pumpkin” comes from the Greek word “pepon,” meaning “large melon”.
  • Pumpkins can be grown on every continent except Antarctica.
  • The United States produces about 1.5 billion pounds of pumpkin each year.
  • A Wisconsin farmer grew the largest pumpkin ever recorded. He used seaweed, cow manure, and fish emulsion to grow his pumpkin, which weighed a total of 1,810 pounds and was the size of a dumpster!

Side note: I'm a terrible pumpkin carver, but I'll share what I come up with regardless.

    @ForumNinja ....I get the timing, and the fun of it.... but...

    Should you really be starting more yellow stickied competitions (no matter how trivial) when you've still got a big one from almost a year ago sitting unresolved and ignored on the front page...

    @Chunkypixels I didn't sticky this one as I'm aware the pinball one is still up there. With my role in creating our curriculum wrapping up I'm getting more time to spend on the community.

    I went through the entries to the pinball competition a little while back and for some reason it looked like we only had 3 non pinball games get through (which was a little weird). Regardless, I'll be giving a new close date and add a submissions button back to the publishing page so that we can get that contest finish and closed :)

    @Chunkypixels You can manually dismiss yellow sticky posts with the gear icon on the right side. You don't have to watch them build up and linger for eternity.
